Established in 2000, The Friends of the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge is a non-profit organization of dedicated and conservation-minded volunteers who work with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Eastern Massachusetts National Wildlife Refuge Complex to protect and enhance the refuge’s flora and fauna. Through stewardship activities, education and outreach programs, Friends work to ensure these valuable resources are available for the enjoyment and education of present and future generations.

The TV show features the Friends monthly meetings which focus on a wide array of topics of interest to FARNWR presented by experts in their respective fields.
