Jim Merkel, author of the book "Radical Simplicity" was the keynote speaker at the 17th annual H.O.P.E. Festival at the University of Maine, Orono on April 30th. Jim spoke with authority about how the military-industrial complex is destroying the sustainability of our Earth. He can do this because he was once an electrical engineer dealing weapons of mass destruction all over the world. His top secret clearances made this all possible. After the Exxon-Valdez oil spill, he realized just how we were destroying our planet and the role the military played in it. Jim says that there is absolutly no need for poverty in the world. If our government won't stop it, we can.
Included are musical clips from the HOPE Festival Singers and Maine Folksinger, David Mallett. Also interviews with local activists.
