Episode Description:

This episode features a discussion about the recent TEDwomen conference in Palo Alto, CA, part of the larger TED movement (www.TED.com) and hosted by independent TED group TEDxBayArea (www.TEDxBayArea.com). TED groups sponsor meetings and discussions, both in person and online, about "ideas worth spreading". The TEDwomen conference and its array of speakers dealt mostly with social networking and community building, and finding ways of advancing women in business.

The show features on-location interviews with several conference speakers, including California Secretary of State Debra Bowen, the highest ranking female state official in California. The two in-studio guests are Francine Gordon, Ph.D., CEO of the F Gordon Group and one of the organizers of TEDxBayArea, and Tatyana Kanzaveli, chief organizer of TEDxBayArea, a senior executive at Price Waterhouse, and organizer of a large Bay Area executives meetup group. The discussion deals with some of the most important questions about the role of women in the economy and in society.
