Episode Description:

The Blackstone River Valley and its engineered water-powered landscape tells a remarkable story of America’s industrial growth. This landscape filled with mill villages dating back to 1806 is the central part of this industrial landscape and it was replicated throughout the nation - coal mining villages in West Virginia and PA, textile villages in the Carolina’s and in mining camps from Colorado to Idaho – the model for all of these mill villages was began here in the Blackstone Valley. The question is whether there is enough history and physical intact parts of this industrial landscape that rises to the level of a National Park. So join us as Along the Blackstone’s Episode #68 explores the potential of making a National Park here in the Blackstone Valley.
