Bill Jolliff's Music - Song & Story Fest - BV 21-01

''When I came up in 'old-time country music' and if there's anything that you learn, I mean it is drilled into yah; When you come out on stage, you don't say a word.  You jump right in with a real 'barn-burner' that grabs them by the hair and you never let go. You gotta be smooth, you gotta be professional, you gotta be drivin'.  I've lived by that rule for the past 50 years.....until, today.''  ~ Bill Jolliff

From the Pristine Watershed of Camp Myrtlewood in Southern Oregon, this edition of ''Brethren Voices'' features ''Music of Bill Jolliff'', who, during his journey has been a professor of Literature at George Fox University for nearly 3-decades. He is an active writer and researcher. Bill's musical interests have carried him for 50 years of his life and we share some of his works and humor in this edition of ''Brethren Voices.'' His students describe Bill with much admiration and appreciation. Typically, they appreciate his knowledge of literature and humor.

Bill is known in Brethren Circles as a frequent, featured performer at the Annual Song and Story Fest,  that has been held for the past 24 years at various sites around the United States.   Should you happen to be a regular viewer of ''Brethren Voices,'' the theme song, ''The Jesus Way,'' is one of Bill's creations.

Bill grew up in Magnetic Springs, Ohio, and with his dry humor, states, ''the springs are actually magnetic.''   Jolliff started playing the guitar and banjo with his grandmother when he was 15.   During his high school years, he started forming an interest in American literature, especially the works of Robert Frost and John Steinbeck.
