Episode Description:

A two segment show. Segment one is a presentation by Ilana Feldman of George Washington University given at Colby College on November 19th. She gives a brief history of Gaza during the Egyptian administration of Gaza from 1948 to 1967. She describes what happened after 250,000 Palestinians were displaced into Gaza from Southern Palestine, now known as Israel.

Segment two consists of interviews conducted with a Maine prison reform activist group known as The Coalition Against the Abuse of Solitary Confinement. You will hear from people directly involved with many aspects of Maine prisons. After listening to these folks, you will better understand the vast short-comings we have in our Maine Department of Corrections and the legislation proposed to solve some very basic problems.

Both segments will illustrate just how widespread human rights abuses are and that your knowing about them can be a step towards solutions.
