Episode Description:

On Oct. 17, two busses, one from Skowhegan and one from Bangor departed for Boston to attend a peace rally in Copley Square. Activists from all over New England heard from Mathis Chiroux of Iraq Veterans Against the War, Sarah Fuhero of Military Families Speak Out and from Zoya of the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA). Zoya, who could not be photographed for fear of reprisals, told the crowd of well over a thousand what is really going on in Afghanistan. There was music and a march from Copley Square to the Boston Common and back.

After the Rally, you will see a short film produced by an American and an Afghan. RAWA was kind enough to give Maine Social Justice permission to include it in this program. The film offers a realistic strategy for winning the war in Afghanistan.
