Episode Description:

Interview with Jos Williams , former head of the DC Labor Council. For 34 years, Mr. Williams was the head of the DC Labor Council of the AFL-CIO. In this episode, Mr. Williams recounts his first entry into the organized Labor movement, via AFGE, the American Federation of Government Employees. His first posting was at the Library of Congress, one of only 3 Federal agencies, along with the Government printing Office and the Post Office, that would hire African-Americans at the time. Jos recounts the linkage his labor activities had, with both the Anti-Vietnam War activities, and the Civil Rights struggles of the 60s.
