Episode Description:

HD - Brethren Pacific Northwest Spring Celebration

"Brethren Voices" travels to Lacey, Washington to "celebrate the good work accomplished by Brethren congregations of the Northwest." Music of Steve Kinzie, Mont Chris Hubbard is featured as well as Mark Ray's story telling and Special Guest, Wendy McFadden, Publisher of Brethren Press & Communications.

Viewers are also treated to a sneak preview of "The Seagoing Cowboy," a children's book written by Peggy Reiff Miller and wonderfully illustrated by Claire Ewart. It's the real life story of seagoing cowboys who accompanied livestock to people suffering the effects of World War II.

Thousands of men signed up to serve people in need. Traveling by ships, over 230,000 farm animals were sent with the assistance of these seagoing cowboys to help rebuild Europe.

"Brethren Voices" -- now in the 11th year of sharing what Brethren do, as a matter of faith.

Over the past 11 years, "Brethren Voices" has featured Brethren living out their faith in many different ways. To ask a person, "What does it mean to be Brethren?".... you can expect to get many different responses. As Brethren, we do not have a creed that is memorized. Instead, Jesus, lived as our guide and is the example for living out our faith.

During the past 11 years, "Brethren Voices" has filmed Brethren in 15 different
states and 6 different countries.

We have been there as Brethren have repaired homes destroyed in disasters in Mississippi, Louisiana and New Jersey. While on "learning tours" with the New Community Project, we have seen Brethren witnessing to the need of caring for our Earth. Brethren have exemplified the life of Jesus through witness for peace and justice. The past nine Annual Conference Moderators have presented themselves and their love for the Church of the Brethren as well as their concerns.
