Episode Description:

As we dump more and more stuff onto our soils and into our waters we need to take a really close look at how these actions affect our underwater neighbors and what we can do to ensure that these critters and their habitats remain healthy for future generations.

In this episode, we’ll get a glimpse of an ecosystem that’s stressed to its breaking point and we’ll meet a famous local figure who will tell us what we can do in our own gardens to be part of the solution. We’ll see the work of an underwater artist and we’ll learn about a common but seldom seen underwater garbage collector. We’ll tag along on the arduous upstream journey that sockeye salmon make in order to reproduce. Finally we’ll see modern science and thousands of years of traditional knowledge complementing each other to protect our marine resources.
