Episode Description:

This edition of Maine Social Justice deals with various forms of occupation. Since occupation can be in many forms of control, you might be surprised as to who is being occupied today. I used three sources of information to find three examples of occupation (control). 1. I will show Bruce Gagnon’s interview on his show “This Issue” where he talks with Dud Hendrick of Vets for Peace about Middle-eastern occupation. 2. I heard about the rally in Fairfield through a Waterville Sentinel article. The rally was in commemoration of the fatal train explosion in Lac Megantic, Quebec. Ironically, Maine activists blocked the rail in Fairfield, Maine just nine days before the accident. Had their warning been heeded, the Megantic catastrophe probably would never have occurred. Corporate greed, again at work. 3. O’Chang Studios of the Rockland area produced a short cartoon about the dubious future of the Maine lobster. Looks like climate change due to corporate profits deals another blow.
