On April 25 Maria Giouard, Penobscot historian, Jim Merkel, author and Robert Syptikowski, Enigineer Without Borders spoke to a crowd of activists at the University of Maine Fitness Center about Native American rights, sustainable ecology versus the military-industrial complex and bringing drinkable water to the world’s poor. The Voices for Peace Choir also sang a few Pete Seeger tunes. You will not be disappointed by this 21st Annual HOPE Festival dedicated to Earth Day. There was also a farewell to Mark and Marty Kelly who have worked with the Eastern Maine Peace and Justice group for ten years.
