Episode Description:
On September 27th, a couple hundred folks who care about justice and this earth gathered at the Bangor Waterfront to hear speakers promoting peace and justice through ending war, poverty and the climate crisis. About twenty Maine organizations sponsored this event which was held in conjunction with last week’s gathering in New York City that was attended by over 400,000. Speakers were: Mary Ellen Quinn, Marc Cryer and Chris Buchanan. Doug Allen was emcee. A march through Bangor was led by the Peace drum of Peter Baldwin and volunteers. Voices for Peace, a Bangor area choir performed four songs to promote peace and justice.
