Bruce Gagnon, host of “This Issue’ interviewed Miriam Pemberton of the Institute for Policy Studies – Washington, D.C. They will discuss the value of diversification of Military spending in places like Electric Boat in Connecticut and Bath Iron Works here in Maine. Miriam speaks about how even many trade unions are on board for more diversified building projects that serve our own citizens. Building peace creates far more jobs than does building for war. Miriam talks about the war profiteer’s lobbyists creating a “racket” After this presentation, I will give a short talk about the book, “War is a Racket” written by America’s most decorated hero ever, Marine Brigadier General Smedley D. Butler.
