Episode Description:

This show documents two polar views on guns and what controls should be put on them.

The first part of the show is a counter demonstration held by Pro-Gun Rights Rally The next Rally had been planned and was to Advocate for Stronger Gun Control Laws.

I was there initially to document what was sponsored as a Peace Rally that was sponsored by the Buxmont Chapter of the Coalition For Peace Action and 20 other organizations. Both Rallies where held in Morrisville, PA on May 11, 2013.

Hours prior, a pro-gun counter demonstration rally was held a few hundred yards away which also I filmed “sorry that we are missing speaker’s names throughout the piece” that as well. The rally was peaceful and the speakers clearly stated their political positions and where and how they were going to make their political actions happen.

The speakers at the Gun Control Rally included parents who had lost children to gun violence, PA. Representative Steve Santarsiero, Shira Goodman and Gov.Ed Rendell advocating for universal background checks on guns.
What is depicted is a rally that was attempting to peacefully be held and was often disrupted by the Pro-Gun allies who had intermingled in the main rally. What transpired which seems to be how this often occurs is two different groups and what appeared to be a war of sorts between the 1st and 2nd amendments of the US Constitution.

The US First Amendment gives us the rights to not abridging the freedom of speech to come together and collectively express, promote, pursue and defend common interests. The Second Amendment protects the right of individuals to keep and bear arms. The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that the right vests in individuals, not merely collective militias, while also ruling that the right is not unlimited and does not prohibit all regulation of either firearms or similar devices.

Around this time period the April 11, 2013 the U.S. Senate failed to muster sufficient support for a gun-buyer background check bill that appeared to be supported in polls at the time by nearly 90 percent of Americans.
