Episode Description:

Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community ... of New Oxford, PA was originally established by 16 Church of the Brethren congregations of the Southern Pennsylvania District over 100 years ago. Today, the Cross Keys village covers over 300 beautiful acres and provides a wide variety of care to over 1,000 residents.

During the past 31 years the Replogle family has made apple butter as a way to facilitate fellowship in this Christian community. Under the direction of the Brethren Home Community Auxiliary, the Apple Butter Festival has been a more recent development to fund some of the important activities and services at Cross Keys Village.

The festival features the Replogle family's apple butter making which is an 8-hour-process beginning on Friday. Those attending on Saturday are treated to indoor and outdoor activities including Pennsylvania foods and entertainment.

Corinne Peterson hosts this edition of Brethren Voices.
