Episode Description:
On August 27, in Coburn Park, Skowhegan, Maine, John Graham, Deputy Chief of Staff for Representative Mike Michaud listened to members of the Waterville Area Bridges for Peace and Justice. He took notes on their concerns for the treatment of whistleblowers Bradley Manning and Edward Snowden and the extensive warrantless surveillance and data collection on innocent American citizens. All of the speakers felt that government's treatment of truth-tellers and use of citizen surveillance was an exercise in hypocrisy.
Shenna Bellows, Executive Director of the Maine ACLU was on hand to speak about the use of surveillance drones. Also included is an interview of Shenna conducted by Bruce Gagnon for Harpswell Community Television. Through the interview, Shenna goes into more detail about warrants and drone surveillance as covered by our Constitution and our Bill of Rights.
