Episode Description:

On April 21st at the University of Maine Fitness Center in Orono, hundreds of people heard Bill McKibben speak about global climate change. Bill, founder of 350.org, spoke about the coming of a climate crisis. It may come sooner than previously predicted. He spoke also about how our political and corporate leaders do not want to address the issues involved. He states that it is up to us to steer our legislature in the right direction through direct action. A good first step would be to eliminate the hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies and tax breaks Exxon is getting.

Entertainment from Zachary Fields, Juggler and musicians Timbered Lake and Inanna followed. As usual, the Voices for Peace Choir opened the cermonies along with Penobscot Elder's (Arnold Neptune) niece with a Wabanaki prayer.
